We believe that riding enduro or trail bikes is the best thing in the world, that’s why we gave up great jobs in the UK, moved down to Spain and started the Adventure Rider Centre.
We are Barry Fleming (Baz) and Karen Waind (Kaz) and together with our key partner AdventureSpec.com we strive to offer the best off-road riding centre in the world.
Location
The Adventure Rider Centre is based in Andalucia one of the most picturesque regions of Spain. We have over 300 sunny riding days a year and are only 20 mins from Malaga International Airport. Our business is based in the enchanting village of Mijas, surrounded by pine forest in the lowlands of the Sierra de Mijas mountain range.
The village nestles in the mountainside at 428 meters above sea level and has a population of 7,500. Mijas has managed to retain much of its “white village” charm, with cobbled, narrow winding streets, dazzling whitewashed walls and breathtaking views. Many an enjoyable evening can be spent in one of the cafe bar and restaurant lined squares which offer a quiet retreat from the bustling coastal resorts. read more about our location…
Riding
We believe we have the best trail riding in the world around Mijas and so do our 90% of return customers!
Most local trail riding takes place north of Mijas over a radius of 100 miles (160km) giving access to an incredibly diverse range of tracks and trails across an almost limitless range of scenery and terrain. Your riding background is unimportant, we have trails to challenge the worlds best (both Graham Jarvis and Joachim Lundgren choose to train here), the worlds most Adventurous (both Austin Vince and Walter Colebatch love to ride in Southern Spain) and to perfectly ease in the beginner.
You can choose to exercise your existing skills on one of our many guided rides, or push your limits by learning something new on one of our specific training courses. We can help you enjoy your riding even more by teaching you how to ride/explore farther, faster and safer than ever before. You only have to see our list of regular unedited 5*reviews (HERE) to understand just how good the trail riding is here in Mijas.

At times (usually during the hotter summer and cooler winter months) course locations can move either north to the Pyrenees Mountains of France and Spain for our ongoing ‘explore and map the Pyrenees project’ or South to Morocco for our desert, mountains and dunes fix.
Equipment
We use only the highest quality helmets, boots and riding equipment from KLIM, Alpinestars, Oakley, and Forcefield. These are maintained meticulously and kept ready for use in our purpose built ‘kit room’ where you will be taken for a sizing fitting when you first arrive.
Our Garage is also purpose built and houses our workshop and a complete range of HUSQVARNA bikes. Together with our partners Husqvarna and Motorex we maintain our bikes regardless of cost so that you can be sure they are always ready to ride. read more about our equipment…
Facilities

The Adventure Rider Centre HQ is situated 5 mins from the centre of Mijas Pueblo. We are based in a country villa and the site houses our garage, kit and clothing store and a relaxing post ride area (including a sofa filled chill out area, a fridge full of cold drinks and a swimming pool). Our minibus will greet you at the airport and is on hand at all times to ferry you around from HQ to hotel, and of course take you back to the airport afterwards.

Booking
We have tried to make this process as easy as possible with our simple ‘Call Us’ booking system, we prefer the personal touch at all times.
1. Firstly decide upon the type of riding you would like to do. A skills course, trail rides, an adventure tour or a ride with one of our special guests. Then drop us a line either by phone or email to discuss potential ideas or dates. Once we’ve spoken it’s time for step 2!
2. Check to see if you can book flights to Malaga International Airport on your chosen dates. (We recommend you use the website ‘www.skyscanner.com’ and use the code AGP (Malaga Airport unique identifier code) in the destination box)
Note: When booking your flights don’t forget your holiday with us always includes one more nights accomodation than you ride. (e.g. 2 days 3 nights etc).
Each booking is for a single occupancy room. If you would like to bring along a non-riding partner please let us know when you call, we’ll let you know estimated prices (this is usually excellent value and far less than two single rooms)
3. Once you have booked your flights let us know the details and wait for a confirmation email from us. That’s it, your holiday is booked!
If you have any questions you can call us on either 01422 703148 (UK call rates) or 00 34 663 133 015 (Spanish call rates) or email: [email protected]
